Defender relishing return to action ahead of tough month
Adam Webster says he is stronger mentally having recovered from the injuries that have hindered his progress at Portman Road.
The defender missed most of the second half of last season after having ankle surgery and then sustained ligament damage in the same ankle at the start of this campaign.
He returned to action as a second-half substitute in the defeat by Bristol City last time out and is in the squad for Saturday’s trip to Sheffield United.
“I’m obviously pleased to be back,” Adam told iFollow Ipswich.
“It’s very frustrating when you think you’re coming back and pick up another injury in your first start, like I did at Luton.
“I’m alright now though. The injuries can make you mentally tougher. You spend a lot of time on your own away from the lads so you have to get your head down and work on getting back as quickly as possible.
“The guys have started really well and now with more of us coming back from injury the gaffer has some tough decisions as we all want to play.
“It’s a hard month ahead starting with Sheffield United. Bramall Lane isn’t an easy place to go so we need to try and do what we do best, then hopefully come away with three points.”
