Boss says young trio can go on and make a real impact for Blues
Mick McCarthy says Town are now in the best position for youngsters coming through in his time at Portman Road.
Tristan Nydam and Flynn Downes have joined Andre Dozzell in the squad this season after taking the step up from the Academy into the first-team. Myles Kenlock is only 20, while Luke Woolfenden has been on the bench recently.
“I would say with the likes of Tristan, Flynn Downes and Dozzer, we are in the best position in terms of youngsters coming through in my time here.
“You will always get a youngster to come in and contribute for a game here and a game there but to do it over 30 matches in a season and beyond, that is different altogether.
“Those three have the ability to do that. Flynn and Tristan will play games this season. Dozzer would have done before his injury. That will set them up for next year, when they could become regulars in the side and go on to enjoy playing for this Club for years to come.”
Tristan and Luke are in the squad for tonight’s game against Sunderland but Flynn misses out with injury.
