McGoldrick on finding that top form and setting targets
David McGoldricksays he feels he is getting back to his best after being hindered by injury over the last two years and is targeting a 15-20 goal return this season.
The Republic of Ireland international has bagged four goals this term already, including a terrific strike in last weekend’s win over Bolton.
“I’ve had a lot of injuries over the last two years and people think you can get right back on it when you come back but that’s not the case,” Didz told i Follow Ipswich.
“You are playing catch up all the time. Players are way ahead of you for fitness and that match sharpness and for me it’s been a case of as soon as I get to that level, I have broken down.
“I’m getting chances. I know then that if the chances are there, then I’m doing the right things. I could have had more goals and I don’t see why I can’t target 15-20 goals this year. I’d back myself to do that.”
