McGoldrick named in initial squad for World Cup deciders
David McGoldrick has been named in the provisional squad for the Republic of Ireland’s crucial 2018 World Cup qualifiers next month.
The Republic play Moldova in Dublin on October 6 and then take on Wales three days later in the Cardiff City Stadium in the final qualifier for both countries.
Ireland are currently third in their qualifying group, four points behind leaders Serbia and a point shy of Wales.
The top team in each group qualifies for the finals in Russia with the eight best runners-up from the nine European groups taking part in the Play-Offs.
