Blues boss, Mick McCarthy gives an injury update ahead of the visit of the Trotters

Town manager Mick McCarthy says skipper Luke Chambers is “fine” ahead of the Bolton clash on Saturday.

Chambers has been sidelined for around a month, but should return for the visit of the Trotters.

“He’s trained all week and he’s trained on the grass and he’s fine,” Mick told iFollow Ipswich.

“We’ve missed him and it will be good to have him back.

“Off the pitch he has still helped though. He keeps the lads going with his bubbly personality and leadership skills.

“He manages the dressing room really well but now we need his input on the pitch.”

The boss also gave an update on the fitness of Tommy Smith, Adam Webster, Luke Hyam and Tom Adeyemi.

“Tommy has had a slight setback with his hamstring,” he added.

“But Adam is making good progress and should be playing on Tuesday in Nottingham for the U23s.

“Luke felt his knee slightly but I’m hoping he’ll be out training next week.

“Tom looked good against QPR and is fully fit now so we have had some good news recently.”
