Skusey hails importance of Town's flying start and looks to maintain run
Cole Skuse has emphasised the importance of a good start to the season, after a disappointing end to the last campaign for Town.
Blues made a best opening to a campaign since 1974/75 this time around, with four Championship wins from four, before making it five from seven against Bolton last weekend to hold down a place in the top six.
“There’s no hiding away from the fact that we were all disappointed last season,” Cole told the Club website.
“Not just the fans but the players, staff, and everyone associated with the Club. It was unexpected to a degree as I thought we had a strong squad that would do well but it was disappointing.
“That’s what made the start to this season so important because we knew we would be under scrutiny.
“Fifteen points after seven games is fantastic. If you try and base a season on two points a game then that’s promotion form so we’re just trying to stay on track.
“There is a belief in the squad, especially when you see that there are still players to come back from injury. There is a good amount of depth so that’s encouraging for everyone.”
