Caretaker boss thrilled for players after goal bonanza at Reading

Bryan Klug was delighted for the players and fans as Town chalked up the biggest win of the season with a 4-0 success at Reading.

Second-half goals from Martyn Waghorn, Jordan Spence, Freddie Sears - his first of the season - and Callum Connolly clinched the three points for Blues in Bryan’s first win as caretaker boss, with Luke Woolfenden making his League debut for Town.

“I’m thrilled for the players, the staff and the fans,” Bryan told iFollow Ipswich.

“We’ve not had the best of luck before today and four goals were harsh on them but we will take it.

“It’s a big win for the Football Club I think. We know what has gone on lately so to win the game and in that manner, it gives everyone a lift.

“No one can ever question the togetherness of the group of players here over a number of years and you saw that again today with the way they celebrated Freddie’s goal.

“I had no option but to bring Luke back from Bromley. He had a date at Wembley so I was only going to bring him back to start and he did well.

“I have watched him a few times for Bromley so I wasn’t surprised with his performance. There were things we will go over with him but overall he did really well.”
