The first on-camera interview with the Town owner
Marcus Evans has given his first on-camera interview as Town owner to iFollow Ipswich.
In the near half-hour interview, he discusses the strategy for the Club going forward; his search for a new manager; his concerns over attendances; the beautiful game; his investment in the squad next season; what would happen for him to consider selling the Club; why he is now facing the cameras and much more...
Marcus on...getting the fans back
Bringing the season ticket price down, that's not going to, on its own, bring back the fans. It's pretty simple to say, but difficult to do, we need to win football matches and we need to provide great entertainment.
Marcus on...keep believing
I'm proud to have been given the chance to run the Club and of course I'm disappointed that we haven't been promoted, but that's football. It's a great thing about football, there's always next season.
Marcus on...spending £30m on the squad
My kids are very keen fans of the Club and that question is put to me around my breakfast table or around my dinner table, it's not just from fans, so it's something I'm acutely aware of that everybody would like me to spend more money.
Marcus on...the beautiful game
Entertainment has to be high on the agenda for the new manager. We want to pass out from the back but they have to have a plan B and a plan C if necessary and they've got to know how to grind out when it's needed.
