Woolfenden happy to miss Wembley for Town chance

Luke Woolfenden said he didn’t want the game to end after his League debut for Blues came in a 4-0 win over Reading.

The Academy graduate was called back from a loan spell at Wembley-bound Bromley to line up for Town at the Madejski.

“I'm buzzing. I got a call on Friday to say I was coming back and travelling. I didn't think I'd be starting though!” Luke told iFollow Ipswich.

“After the fourth goal, I couldn't stop laughing, it was just a mad finish. I didn't want the game to end.

“I was speaking to Jordan Spence before the game and he said, ‘you're not going to find anything different, just concentrate and deal with it’. And he was right.

“I enjoyed it at Bromley, especially the first couple of months. The manager there helped me loads and I learnt a lot.

“The club has got to Wembley so it’s disappointing to miss that but I’d rather play Championship games and I always wanted to come back and play here.”
