Keeper relishing new season and sees plenty of optimism

Bart Bialkowski says he has a good feeling about the new season and that Town could surprise a few teams.

Speaking in an interview in Saturday’s matchday programme, the Poland international also reveals that he may stay at Portman Road beyond the length of his current contract.

“This is the place I want to be. I’m happy here, my family are happy here. I’m just glad I’m going to be here for another three or four years, maybe longer,” said the Town ‘keeper, who signed a new three year contract last month.

“As a footballer, you want to play at the highest level as possible but as I said, I’ve always been happy here and I can see Ipswich going in the right direction and I want to be part of that.

“We have signed some good players this summer.  They have come from the lower leagues but they have a hunger and desire to succeed.

“I’m very positive about the new season. It could be the one, who knows. I’m not saying we are going to be promoted or in the Play-Offs but I think we will be competitive and I’m sure under the gaffer that we will still be going strong at 90 minutes and we might surprise a few teams.”
