Slo-mo feel to debut goal for Gwion
Gwion Edwards said he felt like life was in slow motion as he headed Town in front against Blackburn on Saturday.
The welsh winger rose highest to meet a Freddie Sears cross in the fifth minute of his Championship debut, before Tayo Edun struck in the final moments to rescue a point for Blues at Portman Road.
“Everyone seems to think that I don’t score many headers but I think I’ve bagged a few in my time,” Gwion told iFollow Ipswich.
“I was told to get in at the back post so I did that. It felt like it was in slow motion but eventually it hit the back of the net!
“It was a great ball from Freddie too. The flight was perfect so I’m glad I met it well.
“We made a fast start but then had to dig in to get a point. I think the fact that we did will give us some confidence going into the next game.
“We should have done better on the two goals we conceded but hopefully as the season goes on we’ll get fitter and stronger, and cut out mistakes, so we’ll be picking up three points when we should.”
