Janoi confident following hard earned point

Blues defender, Janoi Donacien, said a point was the very least 10-man Town deserved after securing a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa at Portman Road.

Paul Hurst's men came from a goal down thanks to Trevoh Chalobah’s strike nine minutes before half time, but just three minutes later Tayo Edun received a second yellow card following a challenge on Villa’s Axel Tuanzebe.

“They’re a good side and I think we did really well to stick it out and earn the point that we deserved” Janoi told iFollow Ipswich.

“That result shows we can go up against the big boys in this league and that should give us a lot of confidence.

“Obviously the red card changed the game for us going forward but defensively we tried not to think about it. We kept cool heads and I think we played a very smart game for the rest of the 90 minutes.

“We can take a lot from that performance and we’ll be going into the match against Derby on Tuesday ready to work our socks off again.”
