Paul sees positives at both ends of the pitch but looks for quality to count
Paul Hurst is looking for his players to provide that cutting edge when it matters as Town go in search of a first win of the season at Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend.
Four games into the new Championship campaign and it’s two draws and two defeats for Town but the boss has seen positives at both ends of the pitch - with room for improvement as well.
“We need a win, we know that but I don’t think it’s too far away,” Paul told the Club website.
“I’ve looked at the performances and overall I’m not thinking we are playing poorly and I can’t see where anything is going to come from.
“In each of the games we have played, we’ve had more shots than the opposition but it counts for nothing if you are not getting them on target and testing the ‘keeper.
“We have to be better on the ball in the final third at times and make that final pass, or cross - or shot count.
“There will be lots of games where a moment of quality will win at and we have spoken about that.
“That said, I don’t think our ‘keeper has been tested too many times either.
“We are frustrated that we have not kept a clean sheet but I don’t think we are getting cut open by the opposition.”
