Special moment to lead team out at hometown club - then it's game on
Paul Hurst will lead Town against his boyhood club on Saturday in what he says will be a special moment.
The Blues boss was born in Sheffield and his family home is still in the city, with Hillsborough holding some fond memories for him.
“I played there quite a few times for Sheffield boys. I took part in a penalty shoot-out on one occasion and won my school a kit - which wasn’t much use as we didn’t have a football team. The rounders team ended up with it!
“I was invited for trials at Wednesday as a schoolboy when I was with Rotherham but didn’t enjoy it despite the fact it was my team. I preferred it at Rotherham and decided to stay there.
“The stadium does hold some great memories for me and while I won’t get too wrapped up it in, it will be a special moment to lead a team out at Hillsborough on Saturday.
“Once the whistle goes, it’s game on though and I want to win.”
