Blues midfielder on Boxing Day defeat

Flynn Downes thought QPR's two goals in four first-half minutes knocked the wind out of Town as Paul Lambert's side fell to a 3-0 defeat at Loftus Road.

Pawel Wszolek netted for Rangers on the half-hour mark before Joel Lynch headed in, and Nahki Wells put the result beyond doubt with a fine left-footed finish 16 minutes from time.

"They scored two goals in quick succession and that killed us really," Flynn told iFollow Ipswich.

"We made mistakes on the goals too so it knocked the wind right out of us.

"Other than that I think we played okay. We had a lot of possesion but we also weren't clinical enough in the box.

"It's important we keep our heads up and look to the next game straight away. I'm confident the results will come and the belief in the squad is still there."
