This time of year is a big ask for players says Paul who'd welcome a winter break

Paul Lambert says he will have to look at making changes to his team over the festive period.

Blues kicked off a run of four games in 11 days with a draw against Sheffield United at the weekend, with trips to QPR and Middlesbrough to come before a New Year’s Day clash against Millwall at Portman Road.

“I’ve got to look at freshening it up over the holiday period,” the Town boss told the Club website.

“It’s a big ask with four games in however many days it is so I’ll look at it. Hopefully we will have one or two players back this week that missed the Sheffield game.

“I have seen both sides of this time in football. I had a winter break in my time in Germany with Dortmund and I’ve played and been involved in it as a manager in British football.

“I prefer the break. I think it refreshes everyone, the players, staff, the fans but we don’t have it so we’ll get on with it.”

Town take on QPR at Loftus Road on Boxing Day and then travel to Middlesbrough on December 29. Follow all the action on iFollow.
