'Jonas will give us everything if he is picked. I know that but I have to look after the Football Club'
Paul Lambert has told the Club website that he has to look after the Football Club given the uncertainty over Jonas Knudsen’s future.
The Denmark international is out of contract in the summer and the Town boss doesn’t want to leave himself light on options at left-back if the 26-year-old is allowed to leave in the January transfer window.
“Jonas will give us everything if he is picked. I know that but I have to look after the Football Club.
“He is in the last six months of his contract and that’s his prerogative. I understand that and he’s been very honest about it.
“His contract situation is out of my control but I think his mind was made up a few months ago. He might be here until the end of the season, he might not but I can’t afford to only have one left-back here.”
Paul added that Leicester defender Callum Elder is currently training with the Club with a view to a loan move.
