Targets continuing process but boss aware of danger in January market

Paul Lambert says some of the figures being quoted for January targets are outrageous.

The Town boss is looking to add to his squad when the window opens in the New Year but points out that it can be a perilous business.

“Ideally, you don’t want to do much business in January,” Paul told iFollow Ipswich.

“It’s a dangerous window and I have a duty of care to make sure we don’t go and get caught up in it all but we need to get some experienced players in to help the squad we have here.

“It won’t be easy, for many reasons and some of the figures being bandied about for players are outrageous. I shouldn’t be surprised though, that’s the nature of the game now.

“It’s important we get the right players first and foremost. We want players who can come in here and make a difference; players who can show the right attitude; players with a good character.”
