Boss expects Potters to be competing at the top
Paul Lambert is relishing the chance to return to Stoke at the weekend, having spent six months in charge there last season.
The Town boss replaced Mark Hughes as the Potters’ manager in January but fell just short of steering them away from the relegation trapdoor in the Premier League.
“I loved my time there. It’s a really great club, really good people,” Paul told the Club website.
“I had a good relationship with everyone there and I’m looking forward to going back.
“It’s a terrific football club. The supporters were brilliant with me and we gave it everything we had but just fell short in the end, which was obviously really disappointing.
“The Championship is not an easy league and they have had to adjust to it but with the structure they have and the squad they have, they should be in the top two."
