BOSS PROUD OF PLAYERS

8 December 2018

'We dominated the game. That win will come' says Paul

Paul Lambert said he was proud of his players after watching Town push Stoke all the way before going down at the Bet 365 Stadium.

Well worked goals from Tom Ince and Joe Allen gave the Potters the points but the Town boss saw plenty of positives.

“I thought we were brilliant. We came here and dominated the game,” Paul told iFollow Ipswich.

“They had two moments of quality and got their goals. Joe [Allen] has made a career of that [his goal]. Young Jack, who is going to be a player, got done for the one-two and it’s in our net.

“But I’m so proud of the players. Football wise we were excellent. We were the better team. You could see the reaction of the supporters at the end. They can see we are going the right way.

“The level of performance is there. We just need that win that the players deserve but it will come.”

Paul made a change in goal with Dean Gerken coming in for Bart Bialkowski, with the manager explaining: “It wasn’t an easy decision but I think Bart needed a break, mentally and physically.

“He had the World Cup in the summer and all that distraction. He’ll come back stronger and Deano did great out there today.”
