Store closed from Wednesday to allow new design to take shape

The Planet Blue superstore will be closed from Wednesday, January 2 to allow for a number of store improvements to be carried out.

The store will re-open in time for the Rotherham home matchday on Saturday January 12.

During this time, merchandise sales and/or Christmas returns will be able to be carried out at the town centre store at 50 Butter Market, Ipswich.

Ticket sales during this period will be carried out from the Ticket Enquiries Centre office on Portman Road (positioned between turnstiles 9 & 10). There will be no in-person ticket sales available from the stadium on Saturday, January 5.

Merchandise and ticket sales will also continue to be available online, 24 hours a day, from (merchandise) and (tickets) respectively. Fans wishing to return any Christmas gifts are reminded that we will be accepting these returns until Thursday, January 31, 2019.

So what is changing?
The layout of the store is changing substantially. This will allow for a better customer flow and alleviate a number of current bottlenecks on our busiest days – matchdays. We’ll also be designating an entrance only and exit only system, again making it easier to navigate the store.

The signage, particularly at a high-level will be much improved, allowing you to work out exactly where you need to get to more quickly. The number of tills on the ground floor will be increased to ensure fans are served quicker. We’re also increasing the accessibility of the store with designated lower height till counter serving areas on both ground and upper floors, with the addition of an accessible queue space on our main floor.

The store layout is changing, with adidas taking over the majority of the first floor, allowing a more engaging experience of the adidas brand and branded merchandise, including the popular replica kit and training ranges. Within this new adidas Kit Room, we’ll have a designated ‘Print Shop’ personalisation station. This will speed up the process of handling shirt personalisation on our busiest days and allow more space to sell pre-printed shirts.

The store will also see a host of new product ranges featured in line with the refurbishment, creating a fantastic new designated ‘Homeware’ focused area. This will include Ipswich Town FC branded bedroom furniture, a Town branded carpet option, plus multiple new poster and giant wall sticker options. With new feature mannequin displays, brand new till counters, new shop displays and additional graphics installations, it’s sure to be a much improved fan experience.

Anything else fans need to be aware of?
The Ipswich Town FC pop-up store at 50 Butter Market will be trading throughout the store closure at Portman Road.

We will endeavour to make as much of the merchandise range available within this store as possible. No ticket sales will be available from this store. Ticket sales will be available Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm from the Ticket Enquires Centre on Portman Road.

Ticket sales will not be available in person at the Stadium on Saturday,  January 5, 2019. From Saturday January 12, 2019, matchday ticket sales (home and away) will not be handled by the Planet Blue store. Again, these will be sold by the Ticket Enquiry Centre on Portman Road. Non-matchday ticket sales will still take place from the Planet Blue store during standard opening hours.
