Goalscorer on Latics victory
Freddie Sears described Town's 1-0 victory against Wigan as "absolutely massive" after his second-half strike saw Blues to their first win at Portman Road this season.
The forward's crucial goal in the 67th minute means Paul Lambert's side are now five points adrift from safety in the Championship.
"We gave everything today and that is a massive win," Freddie told iFollow Ipswich.
"The players dug in and the fans helped us get over the line, hopefully this is the start of us turning a corner.
"It was wet, cold and windy and we've played better this season than we did today but we are buzzing to have picked up that result.
"I'd imagine those seven additional minutes at the end were quite tough for everyone to watch but thankfully we hung on and in the end it was a great afternoon and a great three points.
"It was brilliant to get the clean sheet as well and we need to take this momentum and feel good factor into a difficult match against Sheffield United at home next week."
