New Blue is playing for his future says Town bos
Mick McCarthy says Muzzy Carayol will provide good competition to Town’s wide players.
The 29-year-old winger has joined Blues on a short term contract until the end of the season and trained with his new team-mates for the first time today.
“We have spoken about the lack of cover in wide areas,” the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.
“We have Freddie [Sears] and Waggy [Martyn Waghorn] who can do a job out there but really it’s Wardy [Grant] and Santi [Bersant Celina] that play there.
“Muzzy has pace and a lot of Championship experience. He has played a lot of games and played well against us in the past.
“He is playing for his future as well, whether that is here first, or if not somewhere else.
“He’s hungry and I always like that in a player. You tend to get more out of them then.
“He’s a good lad as well. I spoke to Mark Warburton, who had him at Forest and he gave him a good reference and I’ll take Mark’s word because he’s a good guy.”
