New boy thrilled to get instant backing
Mustapha Carayol had praise for the Blue Army after making his debut in the goalless draw with Burton.
The deadline-day signing came on as a second-half substitute and put in an encouraging performance on an otherwise frustrating afternoon at Portman Road.
“The fans gave me a warm reception and that did surprise me to be honest. Usually you have to play a bit before they take to you but I could feel their support every time I got the ball.
“I can understand their frustration as it’s similar to when you’re watching a game from the bench. It’s a game we need to let go though, you get them in the Championship.
“We’re unbeaten in two so we’ll try to take the positives but really it was one to forget. The focus now is on an exciting game against Norwich next weekend.”
