Keeper pledges his future to Town for three more years

Bart Bialkowski has agreed a new contract at Portman Road.

The 30-year-old ‘keeper’s current deal is due to expire in the summer but Blues have a year option on top.

Bart will now sign a new deal until 2020 with the Club having another 12 month option in addition, with the Town boss breaking the news to iFollow Ipswich.

“It’s great news for us. I’m sure everyone connected to the Club is delighted,” said Mick.

“He is a terrific ‘keeper and has been our Player of the Year for the last two seasons.

“I get asked some stupid questions at times and because he didn’t play the other week because he was injured, I get people saying ‘there is a story in the paper saying...’.

“I said all the way along that it wasn’t the case. He has not been looking to get away. He is within his rights to consider any interest if it was there from Premier League clubs. Everyone wants to be that level but he’s happy here. His family are settled in the area and he’s delighted to sign a contract. He's our player now for three years."

Subscribers to iFollow Ipswich can watch the full interview with Mick this afternoon ahead of the weekend visit from Wolves.
