Donations welcome in the FanZone on Saturday of boots and trainers

Boots2Africa will be back at Portman Road for this weekend’s clash against Leeds United.

The Essex-based charity will be in the FanZone from 1pm, and are looking for Town fans to donate boots, trainers and old kits providing they are in good condition.

In just 18 months the charity has collected almost 4000 pairs of boots, with over 3500 on their way to children in six countries across Equatorial and South Africa.

Co-founder of Boots2Africa, Iain Finch, said: “The response from Ipswich fans on our previous visits has been amazing, with over 200 pairs of boots coming in and just as much kit.

“For millions of children in rural Africa, a pair of shorts, boots, or a fresh top is an incredibly valuable gift that they can use every day.

“In particular the boots reduce the risk from infection and snakebites, while also giving the children a chance to dream big like all boys and girls do!”
