Town progress into the next round of the FA Youth Cup
Jack Lankester scored twice as Town's under 18s progressed into the next round of the FA Youth Cup with victory over Dagenham and Redbridge at Portman Road.
Alan Lee's side fell behind after just 11 minutes, as Elliott Bonds squeezed the ball past Mitchell Ware in the Town goal from a difficult angle.
Their lead didn't last long though, as the Blues won a penalty with Lankester being tripped in the box. Lankester took the spot-kick himself and scored to level things up.
Steven Cahill came close soon after as he was picked out by Brett McGavin, but he was thwarted by a good stop from the Daggers 'keeper as the sides went in level at the break.
The second-half didn't see a great deal of goalmouth action, but the Blues were perhaps slightly fortunate not to go behind as Dylan Florence's cut-back was put wide by the unmarked Luke Hirst.
It was Town that grabbed the winner, though, as Dobra's cross from the left was swept into the net by Lankester from close range.
Town will now face Blackpool at home in the next round of the FA Youth Cup, with the date for this game to be confirmed in due course.
