BOSS ON KIEFFER MOVE AND BLADES TEST

5 January 2018

Mick expects Moore to move on as Grant Ward joins casualty list for cup clash

Mick McCarthy says he expects Kieffer Moore to leave Town in the January transfer window.

The striker, who joined Blues this time last year from Forest Green, spent the first half of this season on loan at League One Rotherham, bagging 13 goals.

“He’s done well at Rotherham so good luck to him,” the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.

“There are a number of clubs interested and I expect him to end up elsewhere.

“He’s made a name for himself and now he wants to move and play regular football.”

Mick also shed some light on the team selection for the third round FA Cup tie against Sheffield United tomorrow, with Town’s lengthy injury list limiting the manager’s options.

“Luke (Hyam) will start,” he added.

“Aaron Drinan will be on the bench and could be involved. His attitude and work ethic has really impressed me.

“Grant Ward has a torn groin so he is unavailable. How long he’ll be out I don’t know.”
