Welsh winger thrilled with move and in squad for Crawley clash

New Blue, Gwion Edwards, says he ‘can’t wait to get started’ with Town following his transfer from Peterborough United.

The 25-year-old signed for an undisclosed fee earlier today (Tuesday), and is set to travel with his new side as Blues face Crawley Town in a pre-season encounter tonight.

“I’m absolutely buzzing to be here and I can’t wait to get started," Gwion told iFollow Ipswich.

“I really enjoyed my time with Peterborough and I wish the club well but now I’m looking forward to kicking on here.

“I’ve spoken to a few people who were at Shrewsbury with Paul (Hurst) and some other guys that know him and I've only heard good things.

“No doubt he will have some fresh ideas and I think everyone at the Club is excited to see what’s to come. I’ve been looking to make the step up to Championship football and thankfully Paul believes in me and has given me this opportunity to come and play for Ipswich.

“Hopefully I can prove to everyone that I’m good enough to be here and do well. This is definitely a team that I’m excited to be a part of and I’m looking forward to the start of the season."

Tonight’s match against Crawley is being played at East Court, home of East Grinstead FC, and is a 7.30pm kick-off.

Travelling fans must also be aware that there is no parking at East Court, with supporters advised to park on De La Warr Road (postcode RH19 3BS), which is a 15 minute walk from the ground.
