More than 5000 get photos and watch first-team train
Close on 5200 fans attended the Club’s Open Day at Portman Road.
The queue for the signing session began before 8am even though gates didn’t open until 9.30am, with more than 2000 getting autographs and selfies of Paul Hurst and his first-team squad.
The player then trained on the main pitch, with Joe Garner, Teddy Bishop and Emyr Huws in action as they recover from injury.
Fun activities took place on the Fieldturf, with sales of ice cream and cold drinks going particularly well in the hot weather, before a mascot race took place on the main pitch.
“It was great to meet the fans in what is obviously a popular event,” Town boss Paul told iFollow Ipswich.
“There were so many families here and I can see why it’s become an important day in the Club’s calendar.”
Before the event, the official photocall took place with Paul, his coaching staff and the first-team squad.
