Paul sees the positives and has praise for new Blue Gwion
Paul Hurst saw the performance against Crawley as a step forward.
Grant Ward scored the only goal of the game in a match played at East Grinstead Town.
New signing Gwion Edwards impressed as a half-time substitute in his first appearance in a Town shirt having joined the Club from Peterborough on Monday.
“I looked back at the game at Braintree and a lot of our problems were caused by decisions made on the ball,” the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.
“We were better at that tonight. We were more of a threat than we were on Saturday and again, it was a game played on a difficult surface.
“The lads are gradually understanding what we are after. It was a step forward and there were a lot more positive signs. There was a more positive mindset in terms of getting forward, pressing with intent as well.
“Gwion showed that with the first time he picked up the ball, he went past his man and the fans who were here gasped.
“He had a good half hour and he showed why we brought him in. He can go past players very easily and he adds competition in the wide areas.”
