Town shot-stopper in final 23-man squad heading to Russia

Blues goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski has been named in Poland’s final squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

He becomes Town’s second representative at this summer’s main event following the news that Jonas Knudsen had been named in Denmark’s final 23-man squad yesterday.

Bart won his first senior Poland cap against Nigeria in March, and is one of three ‘keepers in the final party along with Lukasz Fabianski (Swansea) and Wojciech Szczesny (Juventus).

The Poles will face Colombia, Japan and Senegal in the group stages of the tournament, beginning with the latter in Moscow on June 19.

Bart, who made 45 league appearances for Town last term, could receive some playing time as Poland face Chile and Lithuania in friendlies on June 8 and 12 respectively before the finals kick off two days later.
