Significant fee received and will be invested in squad says owner
Paul Hurst will have the funds from Adam Webster’s move to Bristol City to help him build his squad for the new season.
The new Town boss is looking to bring in a number of additions before Blues get the Championship campaign underway against Blackburn on August 4, with Trevoh Chalobah the first of those having arrived on a season long loan from Chelsea.
Webster has completed his move to Bristol City in a substantial deal for the Club, the 23-year-old defender having made 51 League appearances for Town since arriving from Portsmouth in the summer of 2016.
“We didn’t want to lose Adam but it was very clear that the move appealed to him,” Town owner Marcus Evans told the Club website.
“I thought long and hard before agreeing to the move and we haven’t let Adam go without receiving a significant fee and that will be reinvested into the playing squad.
“Paul has already identified a number of targets in various positions as we look to strengthen the squad for the season ahead and the challenge is now on to secure those players.”
