BOSS RUES MISSED CHANCES

17 March 2018

Mick felt Town deserved more after narrow defeat at Bristol

Mick McCarthy felt Town deserved to take something from the game at Ashton Gate but are paying for not taking the chances.

The Robins edged a tight game thanks to a second-half goal from substitute Milan Djuric.

“I was happy enough with the performance. I thought we played well and had the better of the chances,” the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.

“We didn’t take them though and it’s cost us today because we deserved something from the game. We have got to start putting those chances away.

“I’m disappointed with the goal we have conceded. We could have done more in stopping the cross coming in and then the big fella has got in front of Webbo [Adam Webster].

“That is what they put him on to do though I guess but from our point of view, I’m disappointed to concede in that way and I’m bitterly disappointed we have lost because overall we played well.”
