Skipper looks for positive end to campaign under boss
Luke Chambers wants Blues to finish the season on a high and give Mick McCarthy a good send off as Town boss.
Mick and assistant manager Terry Connor will remain in charge of the first-team for the rest of the season before leaving Portman Road at the end of their contracts.
“Every player in the dressing-room is disappointed that Mick and TC will be leaving the Club,” the Town skipper told iFollow Ipswich.
“The gaffer came in when we were down at the bottom and turned things around. He’s done a great job in his time here.
“It’s football though. Changes happen and we will have a new manager here next season.
“What we want to do now is finish the season as high as possible. The gaffer spoke this morning about making sure we finish above Norwich!
“We know with the changes that will happen, we are all playing for our futures so there will be no let off from the players.
“Hopefully the fans will get behind the gaffer and the team over the last eight games and we can finish on a positive for the manager.”
