Matchwinner Martyn bowled over to be back amongst the goals at Hillsborough

Martyn Waghorn was delighted to get back amongst the goals with his brace giving Town a 2-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday.

It was the striker’s first goals since December and took him to 12 for the season, with the former Rangers player celebrating cricket style after the players played cricket in the dome after training was snowed off last week.

“As a striker you're judged on goals so it was great to get back on the scoresheet,” he told iFollow Ipswich

“The run I have been on has not worried me too much though because we're still picking up points and I've still been contributing to goals.

“I don't count myself as an out and out striker, who just relies on goals. I like to think I do more and get assists.

“The aim is to keep pushing. There is always one team who sneaks in the Play-Offs last minute.

“We're not writing ourselves off but we're not saying we're firm favourites. We've got a good few fixtures coming up, who we feel we can pick up points off.”
