Compensation package agreed with Shrewsbury as Blues close in on next boss
Town have been given permission to speak to Shrewsbury boss Paul Hurst over the vacant manager’s position at Portman Road.
Blues have agreed a compensation package with the League One club but personal terms are still to be finalised.
Hurst achieved promotion while manager at Ilkeston Town and Boston in non-League, before guiding Grimsby back into the Football League after a six year absence in 2016.
He took over at Shrewsbury in October 2016 with the club bottom of League One, kept them up and a year later led them to within one step of promotion to the Championship before going down in extra-time to Rotherham in Sunday’s Play-Off final at Wembley.
