Half the proceeds will go to memory of Town legend as 'greatest season' is revisited

A book celebrating the Club’s greatest ever season has been re-released with half the proceeds going to the family of Kevin Beattie.

1980-81 The Greatest Season in Ipswich Town’s History charts the year that saw Blues challenge on three fronts for trophies, eventually lifting the UEFA Cup with a dramatic victory over AZ Alkmaar in the final.

The book features interviews with manager Bobby Robson and all the players from the side that conquered Europe, who also went so close to glory in the League and FA Cup that year.

Beat was a key part of the side but missed the UEFA Cup final after breaking his arm in the FA Cup semi-final defeat by Manchester City. It was to prove to be his last game in a Town shirt.

The man rated the best Ipswich Town player ever by the supporters sadly passed away recently and the book has been re-released in his memory.

An exclusive poster of Beat in action has been included with the publication, which retails at £9.99 and is available in Planet Blue and online
