FREDDIE | A MISSED OPPORTUNITY

28 November 2018

Striker on Robins defeat

Freddie Sears described Town’s 3-2 defeat to Bristol City at Portman Road as a “missed opportunity”.

The Blues forward twice put Paul Lambert’s side ahead, but two quick-fire goals from Jamie Paterson and Famara Diedhiou meant it was the Robins that took the spoils.

Victory for Town would have left them three points from safety in the Championship table.

“I’m gutted. That’s a very tough one to take,” Freddie told iFollow Ipswich.

“Everyone is disappointed because obviously this is a missed opportunity. We never should have lost that game.

“I’m delighted to score two good goals but it means nothing now. Points are more important and we’ve taken nothing from the game because silly mistakes have cost us.

“We have no time to feel sorry for ourselves, though, because we have a game on Saturday and we need to be ready for that.

“It’s important we stick together. Credit to the fans because they’ve been fantastic - it’s down to us to start winning games now."
