Embrace the past but look to create our own history says boss
Paul Lambert says it’s important the players of the past remain part of the Club but also says the players of today must look to create their own history.
The Town boss invited Club legends John Wark, Terry Butcher and George Burley to the training ground yesterday to watch the team prepare for Saturday’s trip to the Madejski Stadium.
“I think the older generation players can get lost as the game moves on so it was important not just to meet them but to welcome them into the Club.

“In the past, they have had some incredible success - not many clubs can say they have won a European trophy - and the FA Cup around that time as well.
“You have to respect the history. It was a huge achievement but you have to move on from it as well at the same time.
“We are nowhere near that at the moment but we have to have a chance to make our own history. Whether that happens or not, time will tell.”
