Black Friday offer sees big crowd as the boss looks to turn up the volume
Town are expecting one of the biggest midweek Championship attendances at Portman Road in years for tonight’s visit of West Brom.
Close on 22,000 tickets have been sold already with supporters taking advantage of the Black Friday offer that has seen tickets heavily discounted in all areas.
“I’ve heard there is going to be a big crowd in for the game and that is great to hear because there is no doubt that we need that support. It’s vital for us,” writes Town boss Paul Lambert in his column in tonight’s matchday programme.
“I met up with some of the supporters at the training ground this week, the lads that play the drums and a few from a fans group. It’s important to engage with the supporters because we’re all in this together.
“Supporters pay good money to come and watch us. Hard earned money and I want them to come to an environment where they can have a really good time.
“I can’t forecast the results but I can assure supporters we will play on the front foot, play with energy and give everything for this Club. If we can do that on the pitch, and the supporters are generating that same energy in the stands, that is a powerful weapon to win football matches.”
Clap banners will be handed out for all fans and supporters are asked to get to Portman Road early to minimise queuing before the 7.45pm kick-off.
Town’s Black Friday offers also include £3 a pint in the FanZone before kick-off, with doors opening at 6pm, while those who purchase a hot drink in Legends Bar will receive a free chocolate bar with every hot drink.
There are big savings to be made in Planet Blue as well with 25 per cent off all 2018/19 replica kit; up to 50 per cent off 2018/19 training wear and up to 80 per cent off fashion items.
In hospitality, there is a 10 per cent discount on all meals in the Hall of Fame restaurant, with a two or three course meal from £31.50.
