Encouraging display says Blues forward

Jordan Roberts described Town's performance in the 1-1 draw against Preston North End as "encouraging" and "something to build on."

Blues took a deserved lead in first-half stoppage time when Freddie Sears converted a spot kick won by Jordan, but were forced to settle for a point as 10-man Preston held on following 'keeper Chris Maxwell's dismissal in the 75th minute.

"We started really well and I think we showed a good level of intensity out there," Jordan told iFollow Ipswich.

"With our energy levels we've set the bar now and we need to ensure that we don't dip below what was an encouraging display.

"You always want all three points but that's one we can build on and come the end of the season it could prove to be a crucial one.

"We have another huge game next week away to Reading and hopefully that will be an opportunity to pick up points and give the travelling fans something to really cheer about."
