Teddy and Toto involved as U23s draw at Portman Road
Town’s U23s stretched their unbeaten run to 11 games with a 2-2 draw against Cardiff City at Portman Road.
An own goal put Blues ahead before Ben Folami struck in the second half to equalise for Gerard Nash’s side following a Bluebirds double.
Teddy Bishop and Toto Nsiala completed 45 and 90 minutes respectively for Town.
It took just a quarter of an hour for Blues to take the lead with Cardiff’s Ciaron Brown deflecting Jack Lankester’s powerful drive into his own net.
The visitors responded well, though, and levelled when Jack Bodenham comfortably headed in from Jamie Waite’s whipped free-kick.
Five minutes later City had the lead as Waite collected the ball on the edge of the area before lobbing Blues shot-stopper Harry Wright.
Kai Brown (pictured) almost sent Town in level but his volley was well saved by Matt Hall five minutes before the break.
Chances were harder to come by after the restart but Folami made no mistake in the 70th minute when he turned in after Brown’s initial effort struck the post.
Both sides had opportunities to win it in the latter stages with Cardiff substitute Lloyd Humphries striking the post from distance before Shane McLoughlin blazed over for Blues.
Town remain unbeaten since a defeat to Sheffield United in August and will look to continue their impressive run when they face Crystal Palace on November 19 at Playford Road (1pm kick-off).
