'We’re definitely going to need them, 100 per cent we are going to need them' says new boss

Paul Lambert says the fans have a big part to play in helping Town climb the table as he looks to bring a positive atmosphere back to Portman Road.

The former Scotland international spoke to iFollow Ipswich for the first time as Town boss and emphasised the importance of being together as one.

“I was at Millwall on Saturday and the fans were fantastic. You would never know the team was at the bottom with the backing that was there,” said Paul.

“We’re definitely going to need them, 100 per cent we are going to need them.

“The goal is to get away from where are in the table and we need everyone pulling together to make that happen.

“We have to create an atmosphere that is positive around the stadium. It’s down to us to generate that and give something back to the supporters.

“I don’t want to be judged on past successes or failures. Just give me a chance here and see if we can get the crowd going.

“We want the supporters to come here and be able to have a really good time, to get right behind the team because as I said, we’re going to need them.”
