Paul will consider free agent option but youth may also get a chance
Paul Hurst says Town will look at the option of bringing in a free agent to boost his striking options but will also consider promoting from within.
Loanee Jon Walters has returned to Burnley after sustaining an achilles injury that will rule him out for six months while Ellis Harrison is sidelined for at least two months with an ankle ligament problem.
“With Jon and Ellis out, it does leave us light up front in terms of numbers and physicality as well,” the Town boss writes in his column in tonight’s matchday programme.
“It gives a chance for players to get an extended run in the side now and maybe further down the line, it could be an opportunity for one of the younger players to step up.
“With Jon and Ellis out though, it’s a situation we will have to look at and if there is anyone available that we feel can add to the squad, we will look at it.
“We will get more of a chance to do that in the international break, with our focus on tonight and Swansea on Saturday but if we do bring someone in, it will be because we believe they can add something different to the squad, not just for the sake of bringing someone in.”
