BOSS ACCEPTS THE CRITICISM

23 October 2018

Part and parcel of the job says Paul in first tough spell as a manager

Paul Hurst accepts it's right he has to take the criticism for results this season in what is a new experience for him.

The Town boss, who takes his side to Leeds tomorrow night looking for a win that could lift Blues out of the relegation places, is going through his first tough period as a manager after success at all his previous clubs.

“I’ve had moments in the past, certain games, when things have not worked out but overall my time as a manager has been fairly positive,” Paul told iFollow Ipswich.

“Clearly, so far, that hasn’t happened here. That is something I have to deal with.

“I can only stick to what I think is right though and carry on doing the job to the best of my ability and hopefully along the way, things will change and we put performances on that we are capable of and then the mood will change.

“For myself I have never tried to put too much on anyone else. Some people might think that’s a weakness but I’m the manager and I’m the one that takes the criticism or negativity. That’s part and parcel of the job.

“I’m happy to do that if that means others can go about their business as well as they can.”
