Brown at the double in Burnley defeat
Town U18s fell to a 3-2 defeat away to Burnley on Saturday morning.
Zak Brown scored twice for Blues, as both sides finished the match with 10 men - Tommy Hughes sent off for the visitors.
Adem Atay's side took the lead just five minutes in as Brown pounced after Tyreece Simpson's initial effort was well saved.
But Burnley responded quickly and levelled when Matty Rain found the bottom corner with a fierce strike from almost 30 yards out.
The hosts went ahead just before the break thanks to Kai Smith's cool finish from inside the area.
Just after the restart Hughes was dismissed for a second bookable offence after a late challenge on Burnley's Kian Yari.
A clever counter-attack from Town led to an equaliser, though, as Blues were awarded a penalty following a foul by Richard Taylor on Brown. The defender was sent off for the tackle and Brown stepped up to slam the resulting spot kick home.
But the hosts found the winner on the hour mark as Mitch George tapped in from close range.
Town U18s are in action again when they face Charlton away from home next Saturday.
