Boss sees impact of Walters already with striker fit for weekend game at Hull
Paul Hurst says the Town players have already benefited from having Jon Walters in the squad.
The striker returned to Portman Road on the final day of the loan window, joining from Burnley until January and played the 90 minutes in the draw with Norwich.
He won his 54th cap for the Republic of Ireland in their Nations League defeat against Wales last week before returning to the Town camp on Monday.
“Jon is fine. We spoke before he went away with Ireland and said it would be ideal for us if he was back with us this week and he was happy with that,” the Town boss told the Club website.
“He’s very proud to play for his country but for us, he’s a new player and we wanted him around this week ideally.
“He has settled in already. He’s got a great attitude and always has a smile on his face but when it’s time to work, he works as hard as anyone.
“He looks after himself. You can see that and I’ve been told he’s the last one out of the gym.
“I can see the lads have had a lift already from Jon joining us.”
