BOSS LOOKING TO SALUTE MEMORY OF BEAT IN STYLE

18 September 2018

'I’m sure Kevin will be watching from above, kicking every ball'

Paul Hurst is looking for his Town side to put in a performance tonight fitting of the memory of Kevin Beattie.

The Club will pay tribute to the Blues legend, who sadly passed away on Sunday, with a minute’s applause before kick-off against Brentford.

“I didn’t know Kevin personally but being in the game a long time I was aware of what a top player he was and I’ve found out since I’ve been at the Club how he is held in such high esteem by the supporters and the players he played with,” writes Paul in his column in tonight’s matchday programme.

“He has been very much at the forefront of this Club’s history and I’m sure the supporters will show their appreciation of Kevin tonight.

“Hopefully we can put in a performance that he would be proud of and I’m sure Kevin will be watching from above, kicking every ball and hoping we can get the win that we need - and obviously we do need to start winning football matches.

“It’s a test of character for everyone at the moment, for the players; for the staff and for me. I’m fully aware of that.”
