Sad day for football says Town boss as Club salute Beattie
There will be a minute’s applause before Tuesday’s game against Brentford in memory of Town legend, Kevin Beattie.
The former England international passed away today at the age of 64.
“I didn’t know Kevin personally but being in the game, I know what a top player he was and I’ve found out since I’ve been at the Club how he is held in such high esteem by the supporters and the players he played with,” Town boss Paul Hurst told the Club website.
“It’s a very sad day for the Football Club and football in general. My sincere condolences go to Kevin’s family and friends.”
The players will also wear black armbands for Tuesday’s game, with the matchday programme carrying a tribute to Beat, with the front cover also dedicated to him.
